Kanadikavu Sree Vishnumaya Kuttichathan Temple is located at Peringottukkara in Thrissur district with easy access, both by road and rail. It is located just 3 kms from Thriprayar Sree Ramaswami temple and about 23 kms from Thrissur railway station. Legend has it that Konnamuthappan, a great seer and sage, realized that a powerful deity’s presence and blessings was required for the well being of humanity. He prayed to his family deity who appeared before him and advised him to please Lord Vishumaya Kuttichathan swamy, the son of Sree Parameswaran and Adiparashakthi. The Goddess advised him the moola manthra to pray and appease Lord Vishnumaya Kuttichathan. The sage then went to the Himalayas and performed severe penance, which pleased the Kuttichathan Swamy and he accompanied the sage to Peringottukara. Sree Vishnumaya Kuttichathan was invoked and installed at Kanadi.
